Anyone who has kids in these schools, or who has spent any time there, knows that they all need upgrading and maintainence. The focus of these plans seems to be on electrical, plumbing and painting--all of which are needed. </p> <p>As far as taking a loan out to cover some of the costs, this seems eminently reasonable and responsible. I question why it hasn't been done before. We seem to have a surplus of funds. We were certainly taxed to the max. It seems to me that this is a lot of money at this time. And his wife has the right to work wherever she can get a job. But to have a husband and wife team on the school board and in the administration, well, it doesn't seem ethical. How can the spouse of a employee recluse himself on every issue? Every issue will affect the schools, and by extension, the employees. He's intelligent and articulate and vested in the district. Any potential conflict issues he can recuse himself from. I can't imagine a better candidate. Besides, his dog McDuff will swing the canine vote if the treats are there. </p>
