I did not assume anything ,Mike did. I'm not touting caucus rhetoric.I observe the statements being put forth here. I preform due dilligence in order to form my opiniom on whom to vote for. If in doing so I find something that should be made common knowledge i will do so ,thats facing real facts. Alex has been a chamber member and aquaintence of mine for many years. I know him to be truthful.I believe what he says to be factual. You, it seems, do not,To bad. Thats my opinion Fred and just so you know, in all the elections i've voted in since starting in 1976 ( missing only one) I have rarely vote straight a ticket. So you are the one making assumptions O Lobotamized one.I'm going to my son's game now, good day to you all.

Eric, assuming facts, buying into campaign rhetoric, and sticking with the party line is so much easier than finding the real facts and facing them. Try it, but get the lobotomy first.

That is true, all people are capable of almost any action. However, I generally try not to make assumptions while lacking any factual data.

eric, We do not know what was said between gallegos and the Caucus. One can see from the outside how the Caucus, and even gorman, might calculate certain things.

Mike you are assuming the caucus somehow knew in advance that Alex would run as an independant should they reject him as a candidate. All I know is that he felt strongly enough about his ideas to help riverside that he took the rejection in stride. He did not tell anyone in the Chamber about his decision to run untill the day before he oficially announced his candicy. Thus I do not think there were any extranious reasons for the caucus rejecting him. Finally you are also implying Alex is Liar without any evidence to back up your supposition.

I highly doubt he would post something untrue in public forum in his own town.

Eric may be an accurate recorder and reporter of his conversation with gallegos. But how would eric know what was actually said between those people? Did he have a recording device?

One thing that the RCA is campaigning on is a rigourous top down examination of the budget. They said that they will look at it with fresh eyes and will not necessarily be wedded to the ways at looking at costs that have prevailed during the last decade. For example, they might not pay for the VM's car washes, or might use more no-bid contracts.

IDIC5 -

Though I do not know Mr. Sundstrom, I do know that there is an Eric Sundstrom who lives in Riverside and is a local businessman. I highly doubt he would post something untrue in public forum in his own town.

I never said that the RCA had plank in their platform called "criticizing the Caucus for having a monopoly and not wanting opposition candidates." Just what they imply when talking and what their supporters say.

In their platform, the RCA never say they will cut the budget but that is what they are campaigning on.

james said--

Aren't they criticizing the Caucus for having a monopoly and not wanting opposition candidates?

Assuming the 'they' you are talking about is the RCA candidates. I am not sure what the RCA 's position is on the Caucus. Please cite something. They have talked about behaviors and choices made and that promise to be made - behaviors such as a lack of transparency in gov't, choices about where our tax money has gone.

That this has happened in a one party town is probably not coincidental. Maybe some avowed supporters of the RCA have brought this up, me included. But this is not a KEY plank in their platform, if it is in there at all. I and about a couple of others seem to be more interested in the Caucus' internal workings than the RCA candidates.

james, your references to seat selling and the like are, again, assuming that those things that eric said that gallegos said are true. We also do not know what was actually said between gallegos and the caucus. If this were a court of law, this would need to be removed from the record. "Hearsay".

If indeed eric were an accurate recorder and reporter of a conversation with gallegos, gallegos has all the reason in the world to say the worst defaming kind of things. His motivation now? Votes.

IDIC5: I do not have a problem with Gorman asking Gallegos to step aside. He is free do that.

The problem I have and I believe most people would have is promising him a board seat in exchange for withdrawing. That is clearly wrong.

Mr. Gallegos is doing an admirable thing running for trustee. He was put in a very difficult position by the head of the RCA. Gorman should be ashamed.

How one could vote for Gorman after this episode has been made public is beyond me.
