They can move pretty quickly on the ground or in the water and seem to enjoy the shallows and the grass - I'm not sure what they eat. And a nice raccoon family with three small ones - quite a handfull for the mama. The beaver were washed out and have gone up above the damn near Coonley Bay and are busy constructing a new lodge. Saw a fawn the other day - smaller than my dog and glued to her mother. Sometime back I think Mike and John Kunka and perhaps some others did a plan - but what it was based on I don't know. John might - perhaps it was his plan, I'm not sure. I was only speaking to the issue of doing the obvious, and the minimum. When you go and see the wall holding back the river as it rises, and then it flooding through holes you can see through and over topping in two areas for about 30 feet total length, you can easily visualize how most of the water could be kept out. As of about 10 PM this evening the river was down perhaps 30" from where it went over, but the Swan Pond is still inundated in a large area, and it will remain so for weeks.
