I think that's the address, east side of Woodside, has been vacant and half-renovated for the past couple years. About a month ago there was a sale and now a dumpster and usually 5 work trucks (actually mini vans) outside every day. Nice to see some activity there getting that house ready for occupancy again.

Also, saw a sign for a pre-foreclosure sale on Akenside on Sunday. I didn't walk down to see what that was about.

I noticed a vacant and half renovated house on Lawton restarted about a month ago as well.

Glad to see the projects start up again, but just to let you know short sales were most likely involved, ( the home on Woodside for sure.)These transactions, in the short term, will cause home values in Riverside to decline. To bad it won't lower our taxes . I was told the Cook Co. accessors office does not recognize the prices of these short sales as a factor in determining our realestate taxes.

I think it's better to see progress and possible occupancy than abandoned, even if it doesn't help housing values or taxes at all. There's a psychological effect there. It was depressing to see it sitting abandoned for so long.

I agree, Its good to see any kind activity. Gives hope that things are beginning to unfreeze in the realestate market.
