At last week's meeting we were treated to two instances of Trusttes loudly, and as it turns out, inaccurately excorciating one of the present commission members they don't like. Great, so we'll have only a** kissers who do what the Trustees and the developers want. Now that it has been established that these two didn't know what they were talking about I hope that the Village President will send them the same kind of letter hat he recently sent me.

After witnessing yet another one of these "fake" exercises in Democracy inAction I think that we need to get a new TV show on Channel Six to come on right after the Board meetings. It could start out with the James Bond Theme "From Russia with Love" but instead be called "From Riverside with Love". Then, with the music dropping low in the background out could come our own dear heroine - Catherine (The Great) Love - dressed up in a mannish suit and cravat and maybe a slouch hat, and wearing a pair of those brogans that Lotte Lenye had in the film - you know, with the springblade knife in the toe? Then Catherine could give the Minority Response to the issue discussions that we all too often have to listen to but can't comment or correct. " Bet this would be a big hit. Maybe we could get the Chamber to sponsor it - no, they don't want to take a position. Well somebody will step up to the plate, I'm sure. This would be "must viewing" for those interested in our little Village in the Forest. And on that note, don't forget tonight is the summer solstice, so get out and dance around those trees in the park - but No Smoking.

I don't know about this incident. Can we name names? It will be recorded anyway.

Are they still refusing to follow the rules of order, or is this the garden variety bully-pulpiting? Anyone who attends those meetings deserves a medal for valor.

    Thanks for the casting Spatny.

Hey Catherine - I just want to be your agent when I grow up. We need to do someting about these people using the meetings to spout their erroneous views to the public via Channel 6. Accusng someone in public - as they like to do, when the rules are fixed so you can't answer back - seems to be happening more and more. I hope Trustees Grace and Scully will publicly apologize to the Commissio9n memebr they pounced on erroneously. It appears we need to have one of those regualr "response by the minority" broadcasts liike they have for Presidential addresse - except in this case it would probably be a response by the majority to the minority. I wonder if these people realize how out of touch and unpopular they have become with the residnts? Anyway, if you get a call from Scorses or Spielberg, just say yes and I'll negotiate the terms - for 20%.
