Do you have money to put up? If so, I am sure they will want to push and nudge you, they just don't know who you are. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening. But you could go to the special meeting tonight and ask.

I agree it is the heart of our village, and if we don't care about that we don't care about anything. Therefore the property on Burlington should be sold to help buy it.

I have requested of the pertinent trustees and a preservation commissioner that a public comment be made about the progress on that campaign promise to work to put together a consortium and to work with the broker, etc.

At last night's Board meeting I suggested that they have a Sat. morning open meeting at the Town Hall - sooner rather than later - and invite everyone they think might be able to contribute time, money or expertise - like builder/developers, lawyers, finance gurus, contractors, restoration architects, etc. We have a lot of those types in this town and perhaps someone - or a combo of peoples - will come up with a workable strategy. At some point in time the bank will have to recognize that it has a loser on its hands, and we need to have something in mind to propose to them when they do.

I understood a statement was to be made at that meeting about the campaign promise to exercise all effort and diligence to press for a consortium of suitable buyers. Was that report made? It seems no one can get on first with this matter.

    Delusional sellers want $2.5 million:

    Because, get this:

"“The amount was much higher,” Mladenik said. “From market assessment lows and the cost to finish the project, ($2.5 million was decided on) to get a return that investors would be interest in.”

    Say what?!

The Preservation Commission cancelled their meeting because of a lack of business?

I would HOPE the board and the Preservation Commission would be working day and night on finding a solution for the Arcade.

Thank you Spatny for bringing the issue up at the board meeting. It wasn't even on the agenda?! I really hope the board takes your suggestion and calls a town meeting.

I'm still waiting for government on demand - the board has not said much about the status of the jewel of our village.

Isn't Sacchi the board liaison between Preservation? He is finance also? How come Gorman piled all the really hard issues Sacchi? His plate is sure full.

The preservation commissioner most prominent in the Arcade effort just returned from out of town.

I submitted a request in writing prior to the meeting that an update on the Arcade effort be given. It was given. Mark Shevitz issued a call for volunteers having subject matter expertise on all aspects of this matter - finance, real estate, preservation, etc. - to come forth and advise the Board. Having an intellectual bazaar on the issue is another matter and not a bad idea. By the way, I suggested you go to last week's meeting and submit your question, but you did not.

All trustees are liaison on various commissions and matters. I conclude the new ones seem to work harder than the old ones, since one of olds could not even be bothered to acknowledge a transmission on one of their responsibilities.

You call that an update? Spatny spoke, he suggested a town meeting, then Reynolds said, "...yes that is a good idea, maybe we should look into that..." That was it.

    I will repeat my edit:

Mark Shevitz issued a call for volunteers having subject matter expertise on all aspects of this matter - finance, real estate, preservation, etc. - to come forth and advise the Board.

If you don't have the stones to submit your questions to the Board yourself, don't whine about it here.

Well, if we had Blip TV, we could all go the Village web site, click the button and see for ourselves what happend. I'm demanding to know, where is my government on demand?
