Am I imagining things, or did I see a little green "bike path" sign on an existing signpost on Longcommon today?

I recall seeing a mention of a designated pike path in the article about the possible new tunnel
The new tunnel would serve three purposes. First, according to the grant application it would offer "continuity and a link between the Salt Creek and Portage bicycle trail." Earlier this year, the Riverside board designated Longcommon Road and Forest Avenue as bike routes.

The other day I saw a group of bicyclists crossing near the VC from Forest driving down Longcommon looking with obvious amazement at Riverside. It was clear that they never had seen this village before. They had the look of tourists, frankly.
If we can keep Riverside forested, such as was suggested in some of those word pictures that spatny has recalled for us, it will keep the outsiders gawking at, and desiring to come to, Riverside now and in the future.
