I think you mean Tom Barr. Bob Barr was that "big fish" that Larry Flynt outed.

Barr's parking lot on Quincy is an absolute credit to the town
Where is that parking lot, or was that humorous? How can a parking lot be that interesting?

Last commercial space on South side Quincy. Next to his office. It's like a quiet little park.

Thatis a nice parking lot. Do you, Don, or anyone else, know anything of the history of the building immediately east of there--a brick building fronting what appears to be a frame Victorian. The frame building has some interesting detailing on it.

No, sorry. Back in HS I worked for Majestic Auto parts one summer, back when it was up where the bank parking lot is now. hen it moved to the building where Joe Gaberik is now - but after I was gone. There was a garage - Jack Rada's - in the building behind the arcade where the condos are now. Rada was a wild man - he had a motorcycle with a Ford V-8 60 in it, like the ones Honest Chaley still buids in Chattanooga, I think. I had scars on my legs from riding it and touching the cylinder heads with my calves. Don and Bob Falconer had the garage where Jeff's is now, west of the arts center.
I used to build hot rods and fix up cars in all those places. Used to pump gas and wash cars at Henderson Bros. Pure Oil where Riverside Garage is now, and drove a jeep to start cars and plow driveways for Frank Martin who had the garage at Deleplaine and Burlington. Into the fifties there were three gas stations in town. And of course the legendary Grill-Ette. Sorry if I am repeating myself here... now I'm thinking about old cars and old girlfriends... now I shall have a nice day.
