Tony - I was replying to Common's jibe about qualifications... Jane Archer and John McKenzie are highly qualified. You don't have to plan/build places like Burr Ridge to be qualified. I think you two are going to have a long four years to wait to inflict your opinions on the residents. It seems like only the losers are complaining.... over and over and over.... and then saying they want to help. Which is it?

Don - are you sure that is what you were replying to?
"Common - Aren't we getting a former losing candidate and prosecutor on the safe environment commission - if she can learn to operate as part of a team? I thought I heard that..."
There was only one losing candidate that was a prosecutor that has applied for the Safety Commission. Please don't confuse complaining with setting the record straight.

Duhhhhh! That's what I mean. People of all persuasions are being appointed to various commissions. I don't question her qualification for that commission, although I do wonder if she is really oriented toward helping our present Board or is this all just some kind of springboard toward 2013. (I ignore 2011, because I already know who will be elected then - two absolutely unbeatable vote-getters.) I read people knit picking about weeds on the empty lot, but don't hear a peep about ugly, unsightly mess down at Herbert and Burlington that is many times worse and right in the middle of a residential area, and which we are probably destined to live with for years to come. I see people lauding the same set of commissioners that approved that awful project at Burlington and Deleplaine with crappy looking gray wallboard that you see every time you cross the tracks. I don't see too many people anymore arguing with me about how out of place and scale the VC is - it speaks for itself.
Look Tony, Kelly was the leading vote getter for the Caucus(your) slate - which I think either says lots about the perception among even the Caucus voters about the other candidates on their own slate, or else she just has some unique quality that has thus far eluded me. I suppose she is now the Palin-like leader of that party, or? I had nothing to do with that slate - it was chosen through some process and by people that I don't know. What I do know is that they lost. The other guys won. And they have their program, which is FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY. So, if you are against Fiscal Responsibility just say so and chip in to buy a parking lot for people that don't need it. Otherwise, see you in 2013.

Care to share Don, or is top level RCA information?

You'll just have to wait and see. These are independents from the third party.

Trouble in paradise? Don't they want to give the RCA the benefit of a few months of governing before they decide to run?

It's Don and Catherine - Just Kidding :-)
Don - Sorry to disappoint but you are extremely off base with your assumption that I am positioning myself for another run in 4 years. Unlike others who became involved in the Village process in order to run for office, I am involved in the Village process because of my run for office and because I do not believe that the Village is headed in the right direction. My efforts are an attempt to provide clarity from consistent attempts to misinform and misguide - end of story.
Third Party?

Maybe the RCA should shift the focus off of POLITICS and concentrate on running the darn Village.
Spatny, you are incorrigible. Even I am surprised to hear that you all are sitting around posturing the future RCA candidates. How in the world does the RCA have time to talk about who they are going to put up next? There are really problems to solve here and the clock is ticking.
The way things are going; there will be NO VILLAGE to run by 2013.

Common - you are not paying attention to detail. I said the candidates are from a third party - nothing whatsoever to do with RCA. They will be independent of both other parties/slates and in my opinion, a slam dunk. This is a wide-open democracy now. And I have not, repeat not, had any conversation on this subject with any RCA candidate. Period.
John - These candidates will not be opposing any RCA candidate. I said 2011. Stay tuned...

So the RCA won't be running anyone in 2011? you heard it here first...
I bet I can guess who these candidates are...
