Oh brother. You really expect me to believe this? How in the world would you know these "independent individuals" are running if they are not part of the RCA "machine." Nice try Spanty, I did NOT miss the details.

That's it Common, you ferret that information out. You are certainly omniscient and can doubtlessly read minds. I just hope that you aren't sitting in your job office blogging on the public dollar when you should be putting away "The worst of the worst" to quote a phrase I heard during the campaign. We all need to strive for efficiency in these tough times.
John - I meant to say they won't be running against and of the present RCA candidates. I have no knowledge or interest in the further plans of RCA at this time. I think they are doing a splendid job and don't need/want any input from me. Especially when they have Common and Tony to monitor their progress...
Isn't this a lot better than when we just add the old unopposed, elected by 800 votes Caucus candidates over-and-over? Now Common has a whole new calling. She should thank me for giving new focus and direction to her political awareness. maybe she'll even want to vote. Maybe she'll learn to spell my name when she uses it? Maybe....

Three people, one anonymous, ganging up on Don. Classy. Or perhaps not so anonymous as Kelly was at the Plan Commission meeting and coincidentally some eyewitness gave us a timely, if uninformative, recap. Too bad, I was really hoping our anon was Maria.
I haven't heard bupkus about any candidates. Glad to hear it though.
Tony, don't make jokes with my name. These people have been in office 2 months. Why don't you give them a chance, or doesn't that interest you? If you have something constructive to contribute, why don't you offer it at board meetings. It's nice you admit the motives of your former comrade in arms. I fail to see her qualifications though. She is lucky if she gets appointed; she wouldn't be the first turned away. Apparently she does not have to pass the doctrinal purity test of old, as well as the 'do we like you because you will agree with us' test of old.
I would like to see these commission openings posted on the website, along with the qualifications looked for. I would also like posted what the qualifications of these individuals are. I know there have been times when the commissions have gone begging because people did not want to work with certain board members, but this apparently is not one of them.

Wait until the third party runs their FEMALE candidates in 2011. We should have a really great campaign season. I always liked the elections in Israel where they have 24 political parties. The fur really flies. And sometimes people get indicted.

Your clearly dying to tell us your big news. Why would you wish being indicted on anyone else. That is really not very nice.

Common - when people break the law, they often get away with it. When parties compete for office, they look into things. Don't you like to see those that take advantage, illegally, of others or the public trust, get their just desserts? I thought you were dealing with the "worst of the worst" and bringing them to justice. Presumably one must be indicted to be prosecuted. For example, there is a woman in this town - in her nineties - that was victimized by the same guy that Lisa Madigan indicted for taking illegal advantage of others. You should ask her if she thinks that guy should be indicted and tried.
And I'm not dying to tell you anything. I just wanted people to be aware that this Village is not going back to the era of uncontested elections when the same people that select the candidates for the only party can elect anyone they choose. That's gone with the wind. Now people will have to campaign, ask questions, answer them - and we will all benefit. The ladies that are running are universally respected and will hold their own with any other candidates. I love it.
And the correct usage is "you're" - not your. It's a contraction for a verb. I learned that at RBHS from Miss Schellhase more than fifty years ago.
