    The lawsuit filed in 2006 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ronald W. Kafka and Father & Sons Contractors, Inc., is finally at trial.

    The case is up next Wednesday October 28, 2009 in room 2302 in the Daley Center before before Judge William Maki. Kafka is scheduled to testify at 11:00.

    From what I understand the AG is pleased with how things are going. If the AG prevails, Kafka is looking at millions of dollars of fines, but we all know that he is the master of hiding money and shirking responsibility.

    The Landmark reporter Bob Uphues went to the hearing and hopefully will print a story on the case. I'll do some investigating too and report back...

    It is amazing that with the long history of litigation, there are still people who give this guy business. Even in town I see the signs in front of homes proclaiming "Father and Sons." Either the customers are too ashamed at having made a mistake or the attorney general is wrong. I think the former. Perhaps this web site could do a public service by encouraging those with "horror stories" to share them. There is no shame in being preyed upon. There may be some shame to letting others befall the same fate. Money talks. If there is no money...
