Although at the beginning of the last Board of Trustee meeting, it was decided to not discuss TIF again until after the election (with some audible sighs of relief,) at the end of the meeting, Trustee Shields (who works for a premier TIF law firm) insisted that they revisit the TIF issue again on Tues. April 3.

The reality is, the TIF numbers they have compiled have an expiration date. If they wait until after the election, they will most likely have to start over from scratch. Trustee Shields did point out that the over one hundred thousand it would cost the village to start the process over is reimbursable by TIF funds.

Which brings us to how much TIF $$$ has the village already spent on TIF? Trustees Smith & Scully would like to see those numbers as well. We hope the village is forthcoming with the amount spent on the TIF process immediately.

It is imperative that the village residents pay attention. Although your voice is silenced at Committee of the Whole meetings, your very being there, or if you cannot, watching it on Ch. 6, will speak volumes.

    Thank you for your attention.

Either the consultants want more to modify and update the thing than they received for doing it in the first place - which is just plain robbery - or else we have been misled about what all this has cost. Let's see the numbers in time to show them to the voters. Peasants - grab your pitchforks. The time has come to demand an accounting.

This is one week from today, by the way. [It just dawned on me that this was not tonight.] Will they post the agenda in advance so we can know if TIF is on the Agenda or not?

I hope that all who go will not allow themselves to be crowded out of the meeting room, a room too small to reasonably be expected to provide an open meeting, but will go right into the room, as crowded as it may be.

Don't forget this meeting will be held in the library - smaller room.

I know that. That is why I am saying this. If they don't like it, they can get a larger room. Do not allow yourself to be crowded out of a public meeting. How can they comply with the Open Meetings Act if all who want to attend can't get in?

Here is the agenda for the April 3rd meetings. Please note there is a "REgular" Meeting scheduled at the same time, so one cannot know which one will be held first. On the "Regular" action agenda they propose to OK $3,000. more for more out of scope work to Kane McKenna! Also, they have agendized my Open Letter calling for someone to provide the complete costs for the B2 Zoning, the TOD Study and the TIF. Of course it is last, so that meeting will probably be last too. Good bye Basketball.
