    Catherine,

Board meetings are scheduled for 730, but start immediately after the committee meeting if one is scheduled for that date. In the case of next months meeting, I don't believe there is a committee meeting, so 730 should be the starting time. I don't know what room--I hope they have a big one...

I'm meeting with Dr. Lamberson tomorrow to discuss a playground drop off zone so as to ease congestion in front of the schools on Woodside.

Don - how did the meeting go?

Also, is the proposed compensation package under consideration by the Board ever made public BEFORE it is voted on by the Board, or is this a private 'personnel issue' and not something that the public can listen, watch, and possibly comment on?

I would not think it is private since it certainly is disclosed eventually

    Mike,

The Lamberson contract was on the Board agenda. However, it was discussed in executive session. Although I've questioned the amount of the contract, I don't think discussion in exec session was inappropriate here. Contract negotiations and hiring decisions are not generally considered appropriate for public participation.

I believe the vote to approve the contract was unanimous, although i don't have the link.

In the Sept. 30 story, "District 96 board approves $18 million budget," District 96 Superintendent Jonathan Lamberson was identified as District 96's only full-time administrator. He should have been identified as the only District 96 administrator who has a 12-month contract. The Landmark regrets the confusion.

The Landmark also fails to mention the paid 5 weeks vacation and 12 sick/personal days. I can see that it might be difficult to be both the CFO and the Superintendent w/ that much time off, thus the obvious difficulty in providing an $18 Million budget with line items, per se.
