Spatny - Can you tell me the data source for your comments below? US Census? Or some other source? I would be interested in digging into this more.

Spatny -- I believe that there are more students coming into Ames from North Riverside then previously, which is why it is so crowded. All of NR east of First Avenue goes there, and the families that have been moving into NR have more children.

    Thanks in advance

There is a pissin' match here. Who cares what Spatny said.
    Point is there is overcrowding.
Point is that enrichment is not offered.
Point is that the all day Kindergarten option should be where we are headed, like the entire state.
Point is the board and the superintendant have an agenda that does not look like mine.
Lets aim our battles at fights worth winning, not this crap, this is not productive.

Thank you. I did not want to argue this - I just don't want to see Harlem Ave. rezoned as they are planning to allow more and smaller units that will attract more kids into the system than it can handle. I give up on this - what the numbers were five years ago is irrelevant. It's where they will be two years from now. I have to help win an election tomorrow and don't have any more time for this either.

I ask one question and get accused of a starting a pissing match .... I honestly just want to know the source of the #'s so I can do further research for myself. I checked the US Census but could not find them : ( I don't think the numbers are "irrelevant", as they can potentially help us to build our case. To implement change, we need facts.

    Thanks
