How can they ask for $30,000 for Mckenna, which is a company that furthers the TIF, and the Village electorate resoundingly expressed its will that a TIF is not what Riverside should follow?

Oh, I see you said that they are going to pass a resolution for this.

Let's take this in slow motion.

There might be a resolution put forward to the board requesting to allocate $30,000 for McKenna.

THEN there would have to be a VOTE by the board for this to pass.

If they do this on 5/7, I THINK it would be the last such vote by the current board.+

If this is true, I sure hope the Trustees leaving and the Trustees staying keep what is best for Riverside foremost in their minds, and not some misguided quarter baked initiative that the Riverside electorate was quite smart enough to fathom and which it spoke out clearly against.

People, since there is apparently a possibility that such an allocation of money might be asked for the TIF, please send a note to our trustees telling them why you think they should not grant more money to the TIF now, and, of course, why they should not vote to do the next step, or in any more steps, in the TIF process.

    Here are some emails

Unless things change they will do this in one form or another. This is the time to stop this nonsense. And where are the numbers they were going to bring to the schoolboard way back before the election, when Mr. McKenna became ill? Why aren't those being divulged. You can believe what these people say if you want to, but i honestly don't think even ALL the trustees know what is going on. Some appear to be more equal than others.

Most people in town may think the TIF matter is over with the referendum result because the Landmark, strangely, had no coverage of the 4/23 meeting.

Bob Uphues had a lady there taking notes - he was covering an event in Brookfield. I assume he will have coverage of this in the next edition. As I posted somewhere else, I was told the people on the Dist. 96 schoolboard thought the issue "was moot" and all over. Surprise! This thing is like a vampire, it rises from the grave when you bury it with votes. Kinda like the tunnel, which is also kicking around. See, this is an unusual Village in more ways than just being an Olmsted Village. Here votes don't count - only egos. Time to get to work folks and spread the word that all is not what it seems...

I am told by a reliable source that the meeting of the Dist. 96 school board (to discuss the TIF) which was scheduled for tonight is off. It looks as though the plan is to push it past the May 7th meeting. If the Board goes ahead and approves more money for McKenna on the 7th then we must be wary of a "Special" meeting be called with some speech-stifling rules before the new Trustees are seated. People in town need to know how this is being pushed forward below their horizon.

Does anyone know why this meeting was cancelled and-or rescheduled to a later date?

Are we still doing the TIF?

My friend in town just came in from two weeks away and was bubbling, saying 'congratulations', and 'all politics is local', and 'it just shows that if you keep telling the truth and shining the light and--'

Mike: Rick, they're talking about still doing the TIF.

    Rick: Huh?
