Something to consider when pulling the lever next week for District 96 School Board. Will the canidates be hood-winked by the dynamic duo of Lamberson and Limperis?

Dr. Janice Limperis, Principal of Central School gets a cool raise last year going from $96,590 to $133,194. What do you do to merit a 27.5% raise? Are test scores going up that much? Are we spending less money because she is saving tax payer $ on other items?

It is my understanding that Limperis has questionable judgment and poor people skills and Lamberson the superintendent who came with her as part of the package deal is never in his office or at any of the schools. Staff tell stories that when they need him no one can find him. I cannot verify that but I can verify these two spend money like water and never met a new hire, new project ofr new program they didn't like.

Check into the computer scam for every kid. I know teachers in Lake Forest that has the same system and they spend half the class time getting the computers turned on and the kid in the right program. That is when they are not broken.

Vote for good schools and wise spending.

Welcome, Publius, to "the forum". Being a Roman, you might feel at home here. Anyway, you said

I get your drift about the D 96 administration (a 27.5 pct raise in this economy? omg), and I second your summary stmt, but I do not see any input on the d96 school board candidates explicitly. Do you feel that there are certain candidates who are more 'cozy' with the present administration, and some who want to ask the hard questions of the administration?

Thank you for confirming this report.

I wonder why Bob Uphues has not reported on this, but continues to go after the high school. Maybe it sells more papers.

Perhaps he does not know about it. Please tip him off.

Who are the right candidates to monitor and control costs? Does anyone know?

When you attack someone it would show some merit if you provided examples/facts to support your negativity.

Your start looks like basic libel...no?

Will the canidates be hood-winked by the dynamic duo of Lamberson and Limperis?

Then you switch from innuendo to "facts", but you don't know why the raise was granted.

Dr. Janice Limperis, Principal of Central School gets a cool raise last year going from $96,590 to $133,194. What do you do to merit a 27.5% raise? Are test scores going up that much? Are we spending less money because she is saving tax payer $ on other items?

Why would you assume the worst?
Comparing pay of other Administrators in D96, it appears that it puts her "in scale":
    Name Salary Experience Assignment Degree
    Lamberson 194000 25.5 Administration Doctorate
    Devylder 134370 25 Administration Master's
    Limperis 133194 36 Administration Doctorate
    Lieggi 130470 16 Administration Master's
    Berman 126722 20 Administration Master's
    Chleboun 122910 18 Administration Master's
    Polk 118515 20 Administration Doctorate

She has more experience and more education than most. That being said, some first hand knowledge of this would be appropriate before judging it in public with negative slight.

If you have information beyond your inciting comments, you should provide them.

IMO, the following is nothing more than defamation..."I can not verify but"...

I'm not saying that you can't find something to justify your negativity, but shouldn't we be more respectful and mature than stooping to McCarthyism?

    Sheesh.

No, it does not look remotely like libel, and it is McCarthyism to say so.

We realize you are pro-paying the nonunion administrators as they see fit. What you don't understand is that public sector unions, and their nonunion partners, are coming under fire by the taxpayers. They will have to get used to sharing the sacrifice like everyone else.

    Really?

    Main Entry:
1liĀ·bel Listen to the pronunciation of 1libel
    Pronunciation:
    \?l?-b?l\
    Function:
    noun
    Etymology:
Middle English, written declaration, from Anglo-French, from Latin libellus, diminutive of liber book
    Date:
    14th century

1 a: a written statement in which a plaintiff in certain courts sets forth the cause of action or the relief sought barchaic : a handbill especially attacking or defaming someone2 a: a written or oral defamatory statement or representation that conveys an unjustly unfavorable impression b (1): a statement or representation published without just cause and tending to expose another to public contempt (2): defamation of a person by written or representational means (3): the publication of blasphemous, treasonable, seditious, or obscene writings or pictures (4): the act, tort, or crime of publishing such a libel

And thanks for judging me completely on my incomplete posted position on Scanlon's raise.

I am in no way "pro-paying the nonunion administrators as they see fit".

I am all for scrutiny, just not without fairness, manners and respect.

McCarthyism? Was any mention of Communists made? The facts are that it was a 27.5% increase. Just because it is "in scale" does it mean we have to pay that? If the job was accepted at a lower amount should the increases not be more in line with inflation or some other factor? How about actual achievements? By your line of reasoning based on education and experience Polk is way underpaid and Lamberson is way overpaid.

Also by following your line of reasoning we get to the perverse situation that the gym teachers at Hauser and Central are in the higher rungs of the pay scale at over $100,000 and $90,000 each. Look them up and compare their salaries to the math teachers.

So as not to defame anyone: Through personal experience Limperis has very poor communication skills and has made completely incomprehensible decisions on specific discipline matters and educational programs.

Call me a disrespectful nattering nabob of negativity but the current school board passed $14,000,000 budget with little to no public discussion. Schools are a larger % of our tax bills than village or county spending. Lets start asking why we need to pay these salaries just because someone gets a masters degree or doctorate (paid for in some cases by taxpayers).

good points, all. scrutiny is the catchword here. Someone please provide some idea for the voters where the current d96 candidates stand on fiscal matters, especially as correlated with achievement in the schools. by achievement, I do not mean test scores only, but the whole schebang (sp?) of *operating* a good school district.

Everyone has got to know we are living in different economy now. See that other 400 post thread called something about a failure of epic proportions. But , of course, we do not want to throw out the child with the bath water. As children grow and learn, we all need to learn and grow some - on budgets, operations - too.

mccarthyism need not refer to communists only.

McCarthyism is the politically motivated practice of making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence.

McCarthyism is no longer just about "the reds".

McCarthyism is the politically motivated practice of making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence.

I did not say we have to pay a 27.5% increase. I questioned your position without any supporting information. I did a simply look at public records, to find that the pay is not "off base".

As far as a discussion about pay for achievements; I'm all for it! Granted, school teachers and administrators don't generally get paid that way...see links on the Scanlon thread for organizations looking to reform this.

Saying "personal experience" side steps the legality of libel. How about sharing some of those first hand accounts?

So, if there was no public discussion about the determination of the $14mil budget, how do you have ANY idea if it is "healthy" or not? If you are calling for transparency and interaction, fine...but don't call it "District 96 Wasting Money Again" without some form of support for the claim.

Take a look at this and tell us where/how you believe D96 is "wasting money".

Multiply those teacher salaries by 1.2 to get the year round equivalent.
