The only references to his property are being made by you and others. Indeed, it is quite obvious you do NOT respect his privacy and, therefore, likely anyone else's. I don't know anything about his property, but I do notice a repeated attempt to invade his privacy on your part.

Where is your property? How much would you sell it to the Village for? What is the bank appraisal and the real estate appraisal? What did you buy it for and when, and how much do you think it is worth now? How much do you think a good eminent domain lawyer could get out of the village coffers for your property? Has the village or anyone offered to buy it? Have you ever put it on the market and not been able to sell it for the asking price? I look forward to hearing all and will stay tuned!

I think its pretty clear that KimJ started this line of thought. I take it from your response then that you are not accusing the Village of intimidating Mike T. through some appraisal that may or may not exist. I was unclear as to what you meant by "this appraisal business".

No, you weren't unclear. It was stated in Forest Park that they use eminent domain as leverage to beat down the price; you cannot do this without an appraisal. You apparently do not know how the eminent domain process works.

As to intimidation, I perceive that it is you who are attempting to intimidate this gentleman. So why don't you answer the questions I posed to you? Of course I have no wish to invade your privacy: I just want to know what is none of my business, much like yourself.

Why don't you have another peek at the title of this thread; there you will find the genesis of this discussion.

MikeSedivy, I asked that question of Mike T after your comment

"If the Village will pay me what I think my house is worth and pay for me to move, I am all for it. I'm guessing you would contribute :)"

I thought it would be interesting to hear from someone that has some experience with this matter. I apologize to Mike T for putting him on the spot, and I retract my original question.

So... I didn't bring Mike T. into the thread. I didn't bring a reference to an appraisal of Mike T.'s property into the thread. I didn't put Mike T. on the spot and I'm the one who doesn't respect his privacy or anyone else's??? Big gap in logic Catherine, I suggest you re-read the thread. I guess I was one step ahead of you in understanding how ED works - it seemed to me there were references to our Village pursuing ED on Mike T.'s property. If that were the case, I wouldn't have supported it and would have liked to know. Again, I assume from your responses you are not making that claim.

No, you repeatedly reintroduced Mike into the thread, AS YOU JUST DID; go back and count them up. As to your paranoid projections, I cannot speak to them. You were told repeatedly to address your nosy questions to those they concerned, instead of trying to instigate gossip from others.

Let us return to minding the public business of our village, and not prying into the lives of others is my suggestion to you.

I am not certain what paranoid projections you are referencing and I object to your comments on my respect for other's privacy. I guess I am now in good company with plenty of others which you have lashed out at in this forum. It was not I who was instigating gossip or making veiled references to something that may or may not have occurred. If anyone else has concerns regarding how I have conducted myself on this forum, please let me know publicly or privately if you prefer.

I do not think you are in good company with the EDC. I do not like your ideas nor your mission. I do not think the free market needs any help from you nor handouts from the taxpayers. I do not see that Mike T has posted on this thread - nor perhaps anywhere else - since you made such inquiry into his business. I don't lash out; I simply do not allow myself to be intimidated by the scare tactics and provocations of the EDC. But there again, as ever with the EDC, you attempt to divert the subject matter of the thread and turn it personal, a tactic I notice you employ frequently.

What has happened is Forest Park will happen here, and is the point of this thread.

Please point out the scare tactics and provocations you refer to. It appears your wrath is not limited to the EDC. I have seen a similar approach from you with regard to Village Trustees, the Village President, the Village Manager, Members of other Commissions, and other Citizens not affiliated with the Village in a volunteer fashion.

You could not know, because it was private and none of your business, that in fact I sent a message to the village manager cc the Board on Ms Rush's excellent work for the COW in summarzing the problems, the options, and making her recommendation. No, it is only bad ideas I object to. Further, I stated here that I was pleased with the results of the meeting.

This is another example of your effort to divert attention from the matter at hand and waste my time: review the threads. My wrath is limited to anyone who wants to turn Riverside into an ugly cash cow, take people's homes for that purpose, decline to put the TIF to referendum, think Olmsted is an anachronism not to be taken seriously, and question the motives of those opposed to the TIF. I have asked you before to stop chasing me around with your silly irrelevancies; I will say it again now. You are losing the TIF argument, and are resorting to tactics which may not be beneath you, but that are silly and annoying.

Forest Park is a harbinger, a canary in the gold mine, of what will occur here. At least their officials apologized to the people and did not insult them nor question their motives.
