The original, above, should have Songbird by Barbra Streisand playing, but it's hard to do that with an embedded Powerpoint. Here are the same slides with different music.
Thanks Chris, you're a whiz! Best of the season to all from "The Old Coot!"

Merry Christmas to all.
Merry Christmas to all. God's grace and blessings to all. Let's all remember those who are serving in our military in harm's way, and away from their families and loved ones. Because of them, we can celebrate the birth of Our Lord with our families. "God bless us everyone."
Keep the Spirit of Christmas going... Volunteer your time and treasure...
Don't forget the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day in April, 2010:
For the 40th anniversary of Earth Day in 2010, the world is in greater peril than ever, but there is also unprecedented opportunity to build a new future. Earth Day has the power to bring about historic advances in climate policy, renewable energy and green jobs and catalyze millions who make personal commitments to sustainability - A Billion Acts of Green™ – mobilizing the power of people to create change by taking small steps in our homes, our schools and our businesses that add up to an enormous collective action.
Earth Day 40 is a pivotal opportunity for people, corporations, and governments to join together to create a global green economy. Our coordinated efforts now will be recognized by future generations as a turning point.
April is not far away. We need to start planning our Earth Day 2010 event or action now, and join The Green Generation™!
Global Days of Service – April 17-18, 2010
The Global Days of Service will feature Volunteer Actions by tens of thousands of global participants, from April 17 – 18, 2010. These projects in parks, beaches, schools and forests will focus on climate change solutions like tree planting, energy efficiency retrofits, water protection, urban gardens and forest restoration. Produced with the help of Earth Day Network, along with local community organizations and governments, the activities will address current challenges and will help cities and organizations streamline their energy needs, and ‘green up’ their communities. Suitable for individuals of all ages, including children and families, these activities encourage active lifestyles and healthful living, while also connecting volunteers with the green solutions.
As a starting point, I suggest we have a Village-wide clean-up day where Riversiders of all ages pitch in to get the trash that is becoming all too prevalent around here out of the Village public areas and the surrounding Forest Preserves. I'm contacting both the FPD and Commissioner Peraica about cooperating, and will shortly approach the Teamsters Union Local 777 about becoming a sponsor for what should become an annual event.
Concurrent with the clean up I hope we can organize a Riverside Walkathon where people from anywhere come and partycipate in a walk through he Village and pledge x number of dllars for each mile they walk - all proceeds to go toward reforesting and greening up the Village. Hopefully this event can be promoted via our Village Admin, the Rec Department and Metra, so as to bring in as many participants as possible. Ideas and helpers are most welcome. This can surely be a successful volunteer effort just as the Arcade mural project was if we have enough volunteers. More information coming shortly...
