Catherine: So your version is hearsay as well. If you are calling me disgusting - insult accepted as I have been sick for a few days and really do not look or feel well.

I do agree with you on the schools front. The money seems to be going out the door without much control - like Pac Man Williams at a Gentlemen's Club

Catherine reports - Save your phony talk of 'last straws'. You are RP Caucus supporters who will obviously stoop to anything to keep running this town. People like you make this town seem no better than Cicero back in the day. You are disgusting.

You hit the nail on the head - Gorman probably picked up these tactics when we worked in Cicero back in the day.

Catherine, when did you speak to Gorman about this, and what, exactly, did he say?

Catherine: Thanks for pointing out that

"People like you make this town seem no better than Cicero back in the day."

Interesting that of all the candidates I see that only Gorman has Cicero experience. And it is was back in the day.

From Gorman's resume on the RCA website.

While attending law school, he gained hands-on experience serving as the law clerk for the Attorney of the Town of Cicero.

Seems as though he must have picked up some tips.

Interesting that an accusation is made by an independent candidate against the RCA and some of you choose to lash out at the Riverside Party. Let's have some objectivity, please. You actually hurt your RCA party's prospects with these misdirections. Is it that difficult to fathom that not everyone is in one camp or the other?

Seems to me that the independent candidate asked for this info to become available and from what I have observed it would be very uncharacteristic for him to be anything less than honest. The RCA does not have a similar track record. Perhaps the independent candidate, the head of the RCA party, and the editor for the Landmark should meet to discuss before the election.

Shrelock - I assume your name is an alias as well, and misspelled at that - but I was never strong in literature. I assume most posters use aliases so as to not get googled and associated with some of the stuff on this board. I don't think anyone posts under their names except for Mr. Sundstrom, which adds more credibility to his reporting.

Catherine: I am troubled by this Gallegos/Gorman conversation. To whom did you speak with at the RCA?

Do you think we should get them together in public, say noon on Sunday on the steps of Village Hall to discuss this. We could get Uphues along with some Tribune and Sun Times reporters. The Sun Times loves small town political turmoil.

    What do you think?

I read in this forum that uphues was already called on this previously. I assume that he felt there was not a story. He must uphold standards of truthfulness, and not some kind of 'As James Turns' soap opera.

Idic - Could you reference the source that Uphues was already called?

IDIC5: Maybe Uphues knows but Gallegos asked him not to say anything until Gallegos himself made it public in some way. Sometimes that is how political intrigue works.

On another note I found that the RP's display in the last Landmark very effective. Listing of supporters like that and seeing that they are real community leaders as well is very impressive. The signers list looks like a who's who list of people who get things done in Riverside. I saw church leaders, civic organization leaders, youth organization leaders, etc.

    Catherine -

Per your conversations with the RCA, were all the members of the RCA aware of, or involved in asking Alex to back out? Was this Gorman on his own?
