A-mazing, chris. That's human genius. One thing I like about it, is that the instrument is so small and portable, probably the smallest and most portable instrument. So this guy can go anywhere and bring it and share it with people who need to hear great music.
Reminds me of Leo Lionni's story of Frederick who mesmerizes his fellow mice with stories when times get rough. Storytelling, another portable art.

I imagine a blazing fire with a bunch of former computer programmers 'round it, and a guy pulls out a harmonica to feed their spirits.
yeah, even a simple thread about a harmonica player at carnegie hall gets related to the economy.
Saw this cartoon in today's Suntimes (by way of the Albuquerque Journal+. Leonni's story was brought up above with the link to the current state of the economy. Here is a re-telling of Aesop's tale. This also reminded me of the Peter Sellars movie called The Mouse that Roared, where a small country (intentionally) declared war on the USA, only to lose, then be reconstructed by the USA. By the way, tho this was a 1959 movie, it reminds me a little of our current adventure in Iraq. - as well as the case shown in this 'toon of banks being profligate in their underwriting, lending and investment practices, then asking for and expecting a bailout.
