In my recent dealings with the Spindle I have come across all types of ways to better promote Riverside. One great opportunity would seem to be getting them some info on Riverside and maybe joining the organization.

    The community list is here:

Based on a population of around 9000, the membership would cost $700.00. Please note grant and fun ding opportunities along with the "International" exposure to people who might not ever have heard of Riverside or Olmsted.

    The membership info is here:

Michael - Route 66 is about automobile travel. Three years ago I proposed a Concours d'Elegance for American Classic Cars - focusing on a different era and a specific designer each year, and with a tie-in to a Classic Car auction. The idea was to have a display at the Zoo, the Auction at the High School Stagium, and a tour of Riversiide with the cars with the public invited to see them actually motoring. Guess what happened to it. It went the way of the original Chalkfest idea that everybody seemed to like, the Run for the Trees, the Window on Art project to display prints in our CBD etc. We should change the name of the Village to Dead Wood. But Good Luck. I sometimes have a Pilsener at Ronnie Loyyz's Cigars and Stripes and they have the Route 66 newspaper there if you don't have one - I think it's a quarterly or bi-monthly. Incidentally, I think the Route 66 Auto Show is right in front of his place on Sept. 8th. Take Massimo. Always some nice cars.
