If this is true - and please cite a source if you can - it resonates with what I know of JBT. In her state wide offices she always ran on fiscal conservatism first. I take this as a sort of 'penny pinching' Bohemian sensibility - good attributes to have in this local and macro economy. Lest one thinks I am name calling, I am just of proud of my czech heritage as my mom's scottish blood.

A penny saved is a penny earned.

The Bohemian Easy Payment Plan - 100% down and nothing to pay. If we'd only had a bit more of that we wouldn't have been in this mess. Good for her!

I had to hear it from someone at the meeting. I guess the Landmark is reluctant to upstage their 'endorsements.' You should see it soon. Also, there was a desire to endorse the entire RCA ticket. Republicans know money-blowers and tax raisers when they see them.

Yes, she is an honest, intelligent, capable woman; who people on both sides of the aisle can and do vote for her.

JBT's endorsements were published several weeks ago in the Landmark - she sent a letter to the editor. Only the current letters are listed on-line, so I can't confirm who she endorsed

    From Landmark letters to editor:

It is not often that we have such a variety of good candidates for election in the village of Riverside which, traditionally, seems wedded to the caucus system of election. We certainly thank all the former trustees and those seeking re-election for their service. We also look approvingly at newcomers Mike Gorman and Kelly Navarro. They may be in opposite parties, but they are smart enough, if elected, to work together for the good of the order. Riverside may need a bit of that at this juncture.

I guess Ms. Navarro gets the nod also. From Ms. Topinka's viewpoint, she's smart too.

OK, there it is. The other night must have been the GOP endorsement.

No, smart is not the reason I heard she endorsed Navarro!

    Catherine -

Please tell us the reason Judy Barr Topinka endorsed Kelly Navarro.

    Thank you.

I think she made the point perfectly clear when she asked the RCA candidates why they had not slated a woman. Gender. She gave a statement at the close of the meeting that she wanted to see more women run. And to clear up the obvious. the RCA candidates are certainly not against women in any way. They just happen to be four guys that thought we needed a change, banded together to share their talents and treasure, and run as a team, so that we could get something done. Even if they are all elected to the Board it will still be a board that is mixed in affiliation, outlook and gender. I happen to think that these four RCA candidates would be able to work well with Trustees Sells and Sussman, who are good people and interested in many of the areas the RCA candidates have targeted.
