I think Aberdeen could give the most cogent evaluation. She really gave them some food for thought. I think they wanted to adopt her.

Spatny, I think the word you are looking for is co-opt; they wanted to co-opt Aberdeen.
But, yes, those ideas for $$$$ in historical pres would no doubt be of interest.

Agreed, craft fair. Faire: more fake-old that is ridiculous.

Catherine - Aberdeen is far too intelligent to let anyone co-opt her. English is my native tongue - I meant "adopt." They were fascinated by her - truly. Next step was to spirit her away to the other side perhaps, but they would have quickly discovered that wasn't on offer. As Aberdeen enunciated her ideas I could here the tumblers clicking over - if she participates in the Riv Financial Strike Force or whatever it's called she'll own it in 48 hours. She's that good.

Our problems are over! Corbi reports that VC condos are 40% sold to in town buyers, firm non-refundable sales, plus a flower shop lease, and more marketing help on the way. Timeframe for ground floor commercial occupancy was given as "May - this year." Still seeking that perfect restaurant for the front space - the Cafeteria on the Common. Or v-v. Ms. Rush reported that the Arcade developers appeared as if by magic to acquire building permits for some work - including repair to stucco (which is on the newer section at side/rear so that will not be torn down anytime in the near future. N word on any steam hose action or WC repair as yet.

spatny, I've seen a sign for the flower shop or garden center or something on the west wall of Burlington Realty for a while now (just sitting there on a ledge or hanging there or somethign). It has a green shamrock on in and the address says 15 Longcommon or something. I've wondered for a long time if that was a remnant of some wishful thinking or if that was going to be a tenant in the VC. I guess the latter.

Wow, 40% sold, and to in town buyers, which happily frees up all those single family homes, more kids in the schools! Is the VC developer at all responsible for any impact fees?

With or without a TIF, if the children don't move into the TIF district, no one is responsible for any impact fees, at least from my limited understanding of it.

Regarding the Craft Faire/Fair. Obviously, there is only one true, 100% accurate, independent way of determining which is more correct: http://www.googlefight.com

    Craft Faire vs. Craft Fair
    Craft Faire: 1,120,000 results
    Craft Fair: 2,360,000 results WINNER

    Art Faire vs. Art Fair
    Art Faire: 9,530,000 results
    Art Fair: 107,000,000 results WINNER

    There you have it.
