Enough with KRush and sour grapes already. What do people see as priorities? I am worried about the trees. Gypsy moth was already at the other side of First Avenue last year. For those who do not know, the pest exfoliates oaks, first. Then it moves on to whatever looks good. If it sweeps through repeatedly, it kills.
Second, we know about the emerald ash borer. Is it 1100 ash trees we have?
A knowledgeable gentleman in town remarked to me last year that we did not need more trees, we had to properly manage the ones we had. I did not get to follow up on that, but I have noticed that trees with mulch around them sprout their own replacements. I wonder if we could arrange to do that more generally?
