Thanks are due to Dave Monti and the 15-20 kids from The RBHS Ecology Club that showed up today and planted 19 new trees in the Swan Pond and on Barrypoint Road across from the Presby Church. Sue Joseph and Joanna Beaumont were there from LAC and Mike Collins showed everyone how to do it. Less than four hours and a nice result.

If all the Trustees, our Village President and the Village manager and Attorney will chip in $200 each for next year's planting I'll match them, and with the other donations that have already come in to the RBHS Tree Bank we'll have many more go in next fall wherever they are needed. Come on guys and gal- it's your village too! Checks payable to the RBHS Tree Bank are deductible and you can give them to me at the next Board Meeting!

Thanks to them and thanks to you Spatny. You are the guiding light of this effort.

If somebody will send me the code I'll scan and post pix of this event here. I used to have it but can't find it amidst my clutter. On another note: I see a very old guy in these pix wearing a hat and looking like he is one step from the Scottish Home. Need to do some upgrades if I want to stay in the game.

Let's have an online poll. Question: Shoud I dye my beard and hair (such as that is?) What color - dark brown, maybe mahogony? How about red brindle? When we were planting the trees one of the kids asked me if Joanna was my daughter. Thanks kid. What do you think the girls will go for? No ridicule, jokes are OK - I'm serious. Any other suggestions that don't start with "cut off your head and lose twenty ugly pounds." Maybe we can have a naming contest. Winner gets to contribute a tree. I could be like one of those guys that sits on the bench and you throw the balls to dunk him. I sort of like "Mitch" something. Real masculine. Tough guy. How about " Jake Lestrap." Or "Mark Steel." A liitle more culture? How about "Paul DeWitt." Not me? Maybe "Mr. Z." My sweet wife suggests "Grant Stones". No pain, no gain. New look - new name. Maybe a whole new persona. No more Happy Talk from Grant Stones, Private Eye. I could be Riverside's own Mike Hammer. Any other suggestions??? Be a winner, plant a tree.

The police often question him, just because he is interesting.
His beard alone has experienced more than a lesser man's entire body.
    His blood smells like cologne.
He is the most interesting man in the world.
