They came to a consensus to draft an ordinance to designate all of Harrington as a public park. No word on when this will get voted on.

Great job and kudos to Holly, Cindy, and everyone else who worked on this project.

I don't have an update on the Centennial discussions.

That is GREAT NEWS. PROTECT THE GREEN! It is who we are. With apologies to what former St Mary's priest, Father Kasputis, said regarding an important rite,

'It is how we sign ourselves'.

It is how we are known. Riverside's identity.

Thanks to the Village Board who saw this and then 'walked the walk', doing actions that are consistent with the green vision of Riverside. The opening of green space at Harrington that those thousands of cars on Harlem see each day says to the world, 'Here is Riverside' better than any other sign.

Absolutely correct, Mike. I often drive north along River Road just so I can parallel the river and the Forest preserves, rather than along the busier streets. Greenery is a respite from all the man-made ugliness that surrounds us. The idea of a fire station on Harlem is so absurd as to not warrant any consideration. Imagine pulling those big rigs in and out into the backed up Harlem Ave. traffic. Another strip mall with no parking. A "Youth Center" on the highway. Which consultant thought this garbage up, and how much did that cost?
