don, I heard (but did not attend) there was some significant public presence and feedback at one of the d96 meetings the other day. Did you attend the board meeting that followed the finance meeting? it is possible that was the heated one.

A part of the reason that the state of Illinois is in such bad shape. Read the comments. One suggestion is to cut the salaries of the administrators in half. Sounds good to me. How about you, school board? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Good article, Chris. If you think we pay more for a supe at D96 than the Chicago school system does it really shows how whacko this Board is. Hubermann has to deal with hundreds of schools and a $6 Billion dollar budget and is paid less than we pay to deal with five elementary and a middle school? Every single one of them ought to get dumped.

Can we impeach them?

With the hostility/pressure many of them are feeling from the community at large (whether deserved or not), I think that a few of the current board members would happily resign their positon if given the opportunity.

The current school board does not represent the will of the people when they fritter away our money via outlandish salaries for the superintendent, as one major example. We need people on all school boards, Triton included, who are responsible with our resources.
