Catherine - thanks for posting the 2005 study. I printed it out and re-read it. Do you know it actually says that 66 percent of respondents favored more parking in the CBD, and 80 favored village aid to develop the CBD. See page 2. Those must have been the 600 people who DIDN'T vote.

I know you were not referencing me in particular Sundstrom, but I am amongst those you reference. I agree that past boards and a substantial portion of the Riverside populace have not supported businesses. I have had nearly every business owner in town tell me that, so apparently they do not fear my vitriol! But a million dollar parking lot is not going to fix that problem.

As to the people, they go where they feel they get the best goods and services at the best price.

Well, Commonsense, that was 2005. Times were good. What they would support then with public money versus after the collapse of the economy last September are two different things.

Correction: The economy has not collapsed. It is going to collapse, unless people wise up.

I keep meaning to note that the Village apparentlky levelled to lots and then covered them with one of those bio-mixes that seeds and fertilizes. The two look cared for and considerably better than they did. Thanks to whomever.
