Is D113A an elementary or high school district?
How does it compare to our D96 or D208 in terms of number of students, number of schools and size of budget?

Great website! How did you find it?
I wish someone would create a website like this for our 2 school districts. If I was computer savvy, I would. It's all I can do to type on this blog with one finger.
Looks like it's a K-8

This topic has become completely random, but to me it's about making concessions (taxpayers, administrators, unions) and in that vein:
Daley urges CTA unions to make concessions
http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/02/daley-urges-cta-unions-to-make-concessions.htmlThe CTA asked the union to give back a 3.5% pay increase, and they declined to do that. Daley now says that 1,100 workers will be laid off to help balance the budget.

Daley has it right. the unions will have to make concessions or they will find their members without jobs. do the union bosses care? don't know. the membership does. they will be the ones without the job.
the taxpayers, though, have been making too many concessions--i.e. tax increases, even if it is a half a percent, like the cook county tax. enough is enough. we can't do much more, can we?
I was just listening to a talk show and the guest said that what we need to do is start buying locally, that is, made in the usa. buy from one another. forget the imports. can't find what you're looking for? it's out there. when obama says that it will take YEARS before unemployment will go down, then that calls for drastic measures. make in the usa. take our country back.

Random it is.
Nice article in the Scum Times today about the rise in labor costs at Mccormick Place. Unions have gotten wage boosts of 4 - 12% every year. This chart shows the increases by sector. I knew I should have learned to avoid my thumb when nailing!

Isn't that what unions have been saying for years? Buy American, keep jobs in America.

Buying local is a nice sentiment but usually does not hold up in practce. There was a "Buy Riverside" project back in the early 90's that never seemed to get off the ground. Human nature being what it is people will buy outside of town if they percieve getting a better deal (pricewise) elsewhere. I dare say there are some people in town who rarely make it to Riverside's CBD. jmo.
