I think the new Village Board could be given a little more time than 3 months to come out with a plan for the CBD. The new trustees have said their intent was to attract businesses that meet the needs and desires of residents, and that additionally would speak to visitors we will get, it is to be hoped, when we "leverage the historical assets of our village", which was stated as a goal during the campaign.
I know the sales tax is negligible, but it speaks to the complaint that the CBD does not pay its share of taxes. Personally, I think the town was designed with the intent the residents would do precisely what they are doing. But adding to the revenue of the businesses would certainly be great for all of us.
"new"resident, you are quite free to disagree with me. It is the content, tone, and diction of your remarks that sounds old and familiar, which makes me doubt you are indeed new. Please try to stick to the topic.
