Riverside Springs Ahead Community Work Day

Day Two was as big a success as Day One! On Saturday we dug into the many plants that we received from donations out of private gardens and collected from public lands. The results far exceeded our expectations -- we ended up with well over 1000 new plants for our downtown landscaping! That alone is a savings for our Village in excess of $6000!
Thirty volunteers of all ages worked away in the comfort of our Public Works Building while Mother Nature provided a nice, gentle rain for our new babies. We ended the day with a delicious lunch courtesy of Joe Pinter and Mi Casita (the tacos were delicious) and homemade cookies courtesy of Judy Finn (and, for the record, it was Ralph C. who ate all the cookies this time!).
Thank you to our wonderful, hard working volunteers. We are well on the way to our big planting day at the end of May.
We have two more prep days coming before planting. Hope you will come join the fun!
