The west tunnel will rise again, when the Centennial Park project is completed, and then the rezoning of the south sideo f Pine to 4 story R-4 with the parking garage behind Riverside Garage. That's the plan, to line up condos along the tracks that will look over the tracks toward the Swim Club, parks, etc. Could also include rezone of the south side of Forest where the 10-12 houses are in between the anchor apartments at West and near Kimbark. Collectively, that's where the 70-100 condos for commuters fit. Wait and see.

The houses, after purchase prices ($325 & $250) and the $850,000 budget the board has voted in to "improve" the property will be getting close to that $1.5 Mil number it would have cost to fix the tunnel ADA compliant.

How can we have "NO obligation" to provide parking, and meanwhile too poor to fix the tunnel, but spend money we supposedly don't have for parking? I don't get it.

If it is not for parking because we are not obligated to provide parking, and the village is in a financial crisis, are we playing real estate speculator instead of providing for general safety infrastructure?
