I wonder if there has been any increment to distribute, thus far?

According to other posters, the assessment/tax bills are going up. It would have been nice to have captured some of it rather than sending it to the County. Or was that just a clever post. Sorry, if you want to be clever like the other Chris, you have to put it in Latin.

The Riverside TIF was a poorly thought idea. Including a residential area, my street, in the TIF was a bad idea. Confining the TIF to the business district would have been the right thing to do. No need to rehash the past.

Fred, I do get the "always wear your underwear" Latin reference. Sounds much better in Latin.

Ha Ha, I'm chuckling over the "always wear underwear" request. Brought me back to high school!!!! I'm disappointed that TS beat me to the translation.

    Thanks for the laugh.

Sometimes we all take ourselves too seriously. Ipso facto, quid pro quo.

I will be the first to admit I have no idea (really) how they arrive at the number that's on the bottom of my property tax bill. But I do recall getting a letter this summer indicating my assessed value was going down. At the time, people were quick to point out that that didn't mean my property taxes were going down. So, assessed values going down to me means that taxing districts just need to levy more (since their expenses didn't really go down), and my tax bill goes up. It didn't mean, to me, that the assessed values went up where the TIF district would have been able to capture any increase.

Of course, the TIF issue was killed so this is largely a moot point. Feel free to correct any misunderstandings on my part. I don't know any Latin and wasn't trying to be clever.
