to recognize the absurdly false choice being put to Americans - that we some how have to pick between all the priorities we care deeply about but can't touch massive spending on the military. We - all of us - Conservatives, Progressives, Independents - need to demand an end to the wars we have engaged in for so long on the grounds that the millions and billions being spent in Iraq, Afghanistan and now in Libya are needed here at home. Meeting in Baltimore on June 20th the U.S. Conference of Mayors passed a resolution calling on President Obama and Congress "to bring these war dollars home to meet vital human needs, promote job creation, rebuild our infrastucture, and develop a new economy based upon renewable, sustainable energy and to reduce the national debt."
There are far better uses for this money here at home. If you agree, let your Senators and Cogressmen and friends and neighbors know how you feel.
