admin == Chris Hajer (that is probably not news to many people here)
In the fall of 2006, Kim J. engaged me in a conversation after dropping our kids off at Central School. There was some talk of a TIF but I don't know how much I knew about it at this point. Kim was looking for some help getting a website up and running to get information online about the TIF.
We started with a Google Pages website (which is still be out there, albeit with a redirect to this site http://riversidetif.googlepages.com/) but we quickly learned that it was too limiting in what was allowed (only certain types of attachments, limited design options, navigation was limiting, etc.) So, I offered the riversideinfo.org domain to Kim to be used for her website and she accepted. (I had previously registered it but never used it for anything.)
I quickly learned that the effort to get the information online was going to be spearheaded by Kim and Holly M., and there was also a group called "The Concerned Citizens for Riverside." I don't know that I ever met everyone who was a part of that group, although I did meet some of them. A few of the members posted on this forum early on; you can go back to the oldest topics to see who those members are.
So, CCR paid me to build a website at www.riversideinfo.org which is still there. While the majority of our time (yours and mine) these days is spent in the forums, there is a great wealth of information still available at http://www.riversideinfo.org/.
Around November 2006 there was a desire to add a discussion board to the website, so we installed the software that powers http://www.riversideinfo.org/forum/.
In the spring of 2007, the TIF was defeated and I figured the website would just fade away, but there always seemed to be another topic to be discussed. Soon after, we talked about Home Rule, the long-term finance committee, consultants, special meetings, crime, business, national politics, landscaping and many, many more topics. So, the website sort of languished and was no longer being updated, but the forum lived on.
As you know, with any sort of computer or software, there are upgrades and updates to be done. The software that runs the website is updated about 4 times per year, and there are security updates in addition to those. The software that runs the forums is updated less frequently, but the updates are more painful because the software we installed was very new when we started out (lots of significant changes to it make upgrades difficult.) So, I asked Kim J if CCR would release the rights to the domain and website to me. In exchange, I would keep the website resources online, and continue to monitor the forum, as I have from day one. In April 2009 they agreed to do this officially, although I had been the defacto maintainer ('admin') of the site since day one. But now, it was official.
So, there you have it. The site is run by me, Chris Hajer. There's no agenda; there's no invisible hand that's censoring the content in the forums. I really don't care what you guys talk about so long as the discussion in a particular topic stays on topic and doesn't stray too far into personal discussion rather than the issue at hand.
Thanks,

Chris Hajer
