The Newshour had an interesting piece tonight on The Kahn Academy - a one man math tutoring service on Youtube.com You can see it at PBS.org or Google Kahn Academy. Maybe those of you with kids in school should send a note to your kid's math teacher and ask if they use this? It looked like something I should use as a refresher... at a minimum. Check it out, parents.

I'm a long time hockey fan so yesterday was a great day - two good games (I couldn't stay up for the Swedes because of a good Barolo that my neighbor gave me) and I still haven't figured out what the "sweeping" does to make the stones curve. Also, the way those guys can glide on those shoes they wear -
I'm going to review the geometry on Khan Academy - that was my favorite. Never did Calc. The thing is, kids everywhere can use this, and will, so those that don't will be at a competitive disadvantage.
