(I fixed the typo in Announces :) )

This was posted on the village website on Jan 10, 2006:

The Village of Riverside Board of Trustees at their meeting on January 8 identified a process for the community to refine and revise strategies to improve the Central Business District. Diane Legge Kemp, design and planning professional along with other resident experts will work to facilitate a series of workshops for the community.

Residents are encouraged to participate. In order to allow sufficient opportunities for input, the following dates have been set aside. To ensure maximum participation, please note that the second of the two workshops identified is considered a second opportunity to hear the presentation and provide input. Each topic will be discussed twice; all meetings will take place in the Township Hall.

Alas, I have to be in Boston during the last two. I will inquire whether any record will be made of them.

This is a good move. It's just a shame it wasn't done beforehand. I disagree, however, in using the TOD study as the basis for developing new stategies. Why not, as others have suggested, engage a university to take on the planning process as a project rather than bring in those that do work for pay for the village - Ie Camiros, McKenna and DLK, etc. Why not let a design school have a crack at it?
