On this and other issues, the RCA essentially captured and reflected back the will of the majority of the people of Riverside. The recent trustee election and the previous two referenda, on the tax issue and on the TIF issue - both initiatives the previous VM led or at least partnered - also confirmed this.

Apparently, she knew all this and turned the page and I say to her, Congratulations and best of luck in her new position.

What is all this Saint Katy BS. She was looking for a way to better her position way back - that's what they do, Superintendents, Village Managers, PW Directors, politicians, lawyers. They see where they can make more dough, have a bigger challenge, accomplish their goals, etc. People move on, Riverside stays. That's the natural order of things...

JHR--what exactly did commonsense lie about? Are you seriously stating that the RCA wanted to keep Rush on as VM? Maybe I completely misunderstood what I was hearing, but from the beginning of the campaign, it was very clear that they would move in another direction if elected. That's to be expected, and I don't fault them for doing so. Why is it so hard to admit that they didn't like her and she didn't like them?

Rehashing the past and passing blame is a great diversion from the issues staring us in the eyes. The election is over and Katy is gone. It is now time for our leaders to stand tall and tell it like it is. The economic condition of the Village was obvious prior to the election and has only gotten worse. Time to stop hiding behind "the will of the people" veil and conduct the promised open and transparent government with a truthful candor rather than using the "we didn't know it was that bad" excuse.
