Can anyone tell me when the new board becomes effective after the election? When do they come to the board meetings to sit and vote officially?

I thought I heard SOMEthing at the last board meeting that there was a desire that the board with the full knowledge of the TIF, the current board, should actually try to vote on the TIF.

But if that were the case, would that mean that the vote would occur before the next election?

I think it is May 21. The County has to certify their election. The idea, as I understand it, is to have one "workshop" for the Trustees to look over all the material on the 14th, then the election is the 17th, and then they have another "workshop" on the 28th, and would thn vote on the TIF at the first "regular" meeting in May, which I think is the 7th after the COW. That means these Trustees will vote it up or down, notn the new ones.

Again, since they are mentioned here, these "workshops" are the trustee meetings about the TIF and, as such, are open meetings. If anyone has information to the contrary, please advise.

After all that we have heard in the last 6 months, if anyone believes that everything done on the TIF was done openly according to the strict sense of 'open' of the Open Meetings Act, then I have about 25,000 sq feet of retail space to sell you in the center of Riverside.

It does seem strange that we have heard no substantial discussion of the TIF by and amongst the Board. That is why I feel these must be the discussions we have been waiting for, and that they have just been listening until now.

Who can be contacted to confirm when the new board walks into room 4? David Orr?

    .
    also:

In another thread, as I was scoping out the possible events, it became clear to me that the TIF vote could be a hybrid vote over two boards+.

    Current board:

vote to START the TIF process

    .
    Next board:

(if current board votes to start it)

    vote to ENACT the TIF

    .

    cut from the link...
then 45+ 14 days more to a tif, including JRB votes, one more public comment meeting, then the final vote for tif enactment (this will be a fun 45+14 days, especially for JRB and village Board members who would have to vote on this stuff)

+ but this is actually a hybrid in name only since the Village only needs 4 votes of a majority.

In other words, new guys Sells, Sussman and then Whoosy can all safely vote NO, since the other GANG OF FOUR ++ can do it by themselves.

    .
    ++ how eerie.
