Compass on Joliet Road or the two stations on 31st street in Brookfield. There are all kinds of web sites for this. If you buy in Riverside at least we get a small bit of tax money.

Prices appeared to have gone up today. the marathon in mcCook was $2.82. the clark on 31st at Maple was $2.85. they offer a 2 cent discount for cash.
gas in indiana went up 20 cents since noon today. why are the prices high again, all of a sudden?

All of the sudden, it seems like it shot right up. I just noticed premium somewhere at $3.09.
I think they just make up the prices, but I've heard it's because of the cold weather that crude is up over $81/barrel.

Oh, that article says cold weather, expectations of an improving economy [?], a decline in the number of pirates worldwide and tension between Russia and Belarus. (I made up the pirate thing, but it's probably as likely as all this other stuff they pin the rising prices on.)
gasbuddy.com comes in handy for checking prices in an area you'll be driving to:

The 'improving economy' part of it means there will be more people getting jobs and having to commute to work, the level of shipping goes up as people with more money purchase more stuff among other things. It's (theoretically) a supply/demand equation - but we all know it really boils down to the profits that can be siphoned off by the oil companies after they get taken to the cleaners by the hedge fund guys.
