The only change I would like to see in the entire Swan Pond is the removal of the telephone poles near the path and finding another way to carry the wires across to Riverside Lawn. If the Driver Block was restored to it's original look - or close to it - you would have a vry complete and interesting tapestry of facades in semi-circular form from the Library to the Train Station. If you had a long, low Parairie style structure stetching from 20-25 feet back from the present front of the Riv Plumbing facade down to Aunt Dianas - with a low hip roof cantilevered out to provide shelter for outdoor seating as in a Wright Prairie-style home. If it was mostly two story with a partial three story section down past the bank, you'd really have something. Draw a cross through the track intersection, and you'd have the vertacality of the Water Tower opposd to the verticals of the Arcade, while the other two quadrants would have low, sweping hips of the Prariie school which is also originl to Riverside. That could be a world class confluence and a very famous place that people would want to visit. And that Plaza would be a very nice setting for an indoor/outdoor cafe/restaurant.

By driver block, spatny, do you mean the 1st american bank building? That building is definitely included in my stonehenge array. That needs a restore/removal of the siding, rebuild of the chimneys, too - down the road.

Did the bank there look the way it does now for as long as you remember? It would be nice to post some pictures of its older look.

Go into the lobby and towards the back - there are some nice old pictures there. The west facade was given that 50s front with "crab orchard stone' and the alum windows and the planter ehty never plant a while back. Upstirs it's a disaster - there are apartments that are very strange, I think there are some (one) room(s) that have no window, the ekevator addition is that VC style brick, and the back is really strange.
