Kim, maybe the TIF funds could be used to turn the heat down in Township Hall. You were lucky enough to be sick at home so you didn't need to "feel the heat." Man it was hot in room four.

i heard her say that she is a stay at home mom- I thought. I did not hear about the need for day care. I think the msg I got from her was that there was nothing to do nowhere to go in town.+
This might be that 'new demographic' that finds riverside plain-ness wanting - boring and nothing++. Charm tranquility and a lack of congestion is not nice. These words are in the mission stmt, at least the mission stmt that i support. I nixed the version of the mission stmtm with the words 'needs of contemporary living'. I knew that was the shibolith to chipotles. blank chipotles. walk. bike. think. feel the gentle curve of the road that was designed for you to find God step by step. go to the library and to turtle park. bring the dog and the wagon and you will be relieved of Time.
I was going to add a post on this very subject today. I just got back from going down ogden to fryes and I came back FRIED from traffic, and was thinking that de-congestion is REALLY a good value. And it is something that we should PRESERVE in Riverside. If de-congestion is boring, feel free to go to downers grove and get FRIED.
Verily, I tell you there are ALOT, ALOT, of people who would LOVE TO BE 20 minutes to dt chicago and to op, lagr and have a tranquil kind of experience that harkens back to another time period where things are little slower with a little more space. IF you let people know about this place AND, AND keep this cachet, they will pay to stay and live here.
THIS IS THE MAIN ATTRACTANT TO RETAIN FOR THE FUTURE. IT IS RIVERSIDE'S BRAND DISTINCTION. DON'T LET IT BECOME EXTINCT!
ANYWHERE PEOPLE CAN GET FRIED. Come home to Riverside and taste the simple pleasures (hint, they ain't chipotles)

mike+ I believe that the lady who spoke at the end was the wife of the guy who told me that he would like to have his house condemned. He was one of the pro-tif panelists/presenters and a FOT - a Friend of Tom Shields. See link here end of post.

If someone wants daycare and doesn't think strolling the streets of Riverside is interesting to do, WHY would they move here? It's not as if there's false advertising. It is a bedroom community; that was all it was ever intended to be. Every person I've ever known here who wants to socialize with their young children does so in the homes of those similarly situated. Would I move to Riverside and then complain it is too far from the lake? I once used a mortgage broker here who thought it would be just super to build a health club on Guthrie Park so his wife would have something to do during the day. Just SU-per.

MikeT - you're right on the stay at home mom. I think she said she was a teacher too. So, the daycare comment I made makes no sense. If she's home, she doesn't need daycare. I am claiming heat stroke. It was late...
Not sure exactly what she was saying I guess. Can somebody please review the tape? :)
